The mission of Good Shepherd Center is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and foster transition to housing.
Established in 1983 as a modest Soup Kitchen, Good Shepherd has grown to become the largest provider of homeless services in the region. Current programs include the Soup Kitchen serving as many as 100,000 meals to the hungry each year; Second Helpings food salvage and distribution program; a Day Shelter providing the homeless with access to showers, clothing, transportation, and an award-winning on-site medical clinic; a Night Shelter with 118 beds for homeless men, women, and families with children; Sgt. Eugene Ashley Center providing housing and supportive services for homeless Veterans and men with disabilities; and SECU Lakeside Reserve, affordable housing with supportive services for 40 chronically homeless adults with disabilities, including seniors and Veterans. These programs, which serve thousands of households annually, are only possible thanks to the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners.
