Gimme Shelter 2023
The mission of Good Shepherd Center is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and foster transition to housing. 

Established in 1983 as a modest Soup Kitchen, Good Shepherd has grown to become the largest provider of homeless services in the region. Our programs include:

 

• Soup Kitchen, serving over 100,000 meals a year;

 

• Second Helpings food salvage program, rescuing and redistributing over 1 million pounds of food annually to food insecure households;

 

• Day Shelter providing access to showers, clothing, transportation, and an on-site medical clinic to over 300 individuals experiencing homelessness;

 

• Night Shelter with 118 beds for men, women, and families with children;

 

• Rapid Rehousing, combining intensive case management with financial assistance to transition 150+ homeless adults and children from shelter to housing annually;

 

• Sgt. Eugene Ashley Center for Veterans and men with disabilities experiencing homelessness;

 

• SECU Lakeside Reserve: affordable housing with supportive services for 40 chronically homeless adults with disabilities.
